Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18.04.2026

This service is used in the Historic Weather app. UI preferences (light/dark mode, display settings) are stored locally in your browser via localStorage. Google Tag Manager/Analytics and Vercel Analytics are used for aggregated statistics, and Google Ads/AdSense serves advertisements — both may set cookies that require consent in some jurisdictions. Third parties may set additional cookies. Read more about your choices.

1. About this website

This website («the service») delivers content to anonymous users and is used in the Historic Weather app (iOS/Android) via WebView. We do not request or store personal information such as name, email, or phone number.

2. What data is collected

  • Technical server logs (IP address, timestamp, URL, browser) for operations, debugging, and security.
  • Interface preferences (light/dark mode, text/icon display) are stored locally in the browser via localStorage.
  • Aggregated traffic statistics via Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics.
  • Ads are served via Google Ads / AdSense (may use contextual or non-personalized ads).

3. Purpose of data use

  • Deliver and improve the service (performance, stability).
  • Remember your display preferences.
  • Measure anonymized traffic and usage patterns.
  • Fund operations through advertisements.

4. Cookies and local storage

UI preferences are stored in localStorage (not cookies) and are only readable by this site. Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics, and ad networks may set their own cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings without affecting UI preferences, which are stored separately in localStorage.

5. Google Analytics

Google Tag Manager may load analytics tools (including Google Analytics 4) that collect aggregated information (page views, approximate geography, device type, referrals). Data may include IP address (anonymized by default in GA4), browser/device identifiers, and timestamps. You can opt out via browser extension: Google Opt-out.

6. Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights

Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights are used to measure performance and stability (e.g., page views, Web Vitals, and load times). Data may include technical metadata such as IP address (can be anonymized), device type, and browser. See Vercel's privacy policy.

7. Google Ads / AdSense and third-party technologies

Third-party advertisers (including Google) may place and read cookies, use web beacons/pixels, and record IP addresses and contextual signals to deliver and measure ads. We aim for non-personalized (contextual) ads. You can manage your preferences at Google Ads Settings and Your Online Choices.

Read how Google uses data: How Google uses data when you use partners' sites or apps.

8. Data sharing

Data is shared with Google (Analytics/Tag Manager and Ads) and Vercel (Analytics/Speed Insights). We do not share personal identifiers as such data is not collected.

10. Storage and deletion

  • UI preferences are stored until you delete them manually.
  • Server logs are normally deleted within 30–90 days.
  • Analytics/Ads retention is managed in the Google console.

11. Security

We use HTTPS and restricted access. No solution is 100% secure, but we follow best practices.

12. Your choices and controls

  • Delete or block cookies in your browser.
  • Adjust ad settings with Google.
  • Use the opt-out add-on for Analytics.
  • Use private/incognito mode for temporary storage.

13. Children

The service is not specifically directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information about minors.

14. Changes
